DESERTERS FROM H.M, SERVICE.

Report of a deserter 1 from* Her Majesty’s Service; from Wanganui, in New Zealand, on the 20th April, 1864:

57th Regiment of Foot, 479, Private William Hart , 30 years old, 5 feet 3 inches high, fresh complexion, brown hair, grey eyes, figure of a man and woman and eross on right fore-arm ; crucifixion, ship, man,' flag, bracelet, star, and anchor, on left fore-arm and hand ; dressed in blue serge frock, white fustain trousers,” and black cloth cap. A native of Lancashire ; a laborer.

Deserted on the 4th instant, at Sydney, from the 57th regiment ,of I 1 fantry, attached to the detachment of the. Ist battallion of the 12th regiment, private 7 John \ Cook , ;- No. 3086, 34 years 11. months of age, 5 , feet 7 inches high, fresh complexion,'dark brown hair, grey eyes; cast in left eve, left leg ulcerated, extensively,, two , small ulcers in right leg; a native of Galway, Kilkenny; : a sailor.
