Stolen on the night of the 7th March, 1864; from the store of Mr. George Taylor, Lyttelton, 1 silver Geneva watch, enamelled dial; No. 2116, 1 silver watch, gold dial, No. 32328; 1 do. do. 14398, and a large quantity of jewellery, consisting of rings, pins, brooches; and charms. ,

Stolen between the hours of 10 and .11 o’clock a.m., the 17th March, 1864, from the residence of James Webb, Walker-street; Dunedin, an open face silver lever watch, maker M. Cohen, No. 4226 ; effected during the temporary absence of the inmates, the door being left open.

Stolen about 5 p.m. the 23rd March, 1864* from the shop of Mrs. Cooper, Walker-street, Dunedin, a japanned tin cash box, containing a small pocket-book, 5 small nuggets, 1 wedding ring, 1 nugget do.; and about £3 15s. in cash.

Stolen during the month of March lakt; from Waikaka Station, about 85 sheep of different sizes and ages, long triangular brand’ oil hack, and anchor fire brand on near side 61 ndse, the property of Mr Patterson, Waikaka.

Supposed to have* been committed by a womail of the following description:—about 30 years old, 5 feet 4 inches high, very dark complexion, and has an impediment in her speech.

Referring to the robbery at the store of Mr George Taylor, see 0.P.G., 28, 3, 64, page 38, a warrant has been issued by the Lyttelton Bench for the apprehension of Bill Cluff, who' stands charged with one Thortlas Williams , now in custody, with committing this offence. Cluff is described as between 30 and 40 years old, 5 feet 8 or 9 inches high, 12 stone weight,

stout build, sallow .complexion, grey eyes, squints occasionally with one eye, supposed to be the right, dark hair, no whiskers, beard or moustache, big round • head, coarse features, nose short and thick, medium mouth, large coarse hands, erect gait, has the appearance of a fighting man, a large cut or. scar over one eye, supposed the left, active rowdy appearance, frequents public honses, was formerly convicted in Hobart Town, recently arrived in Lyttelton from Dunedin where he is known to all the Blacksmiths and to some of Messrs. Cole, Hoyt and Co’s, workmen.

A warrant has been issued by the Alexandra Bench for the apprehension of James H. Smith, charged with stealing on the 27th of March, 1864, (from the Manuherikia) the property of James Morse, Butcher, Manubourne, a Bay Mare, 14 hands high, cut or injured on the back by the saddle, star on forehead, supposed will be brought to Dunedin en route for Victoria. Smith is 30 years old, 5 feet 9 inches high, brown hair inclined to red, red whiskers, beard and moustache. Was a Warder in Pentridge Stockade about 4 years •ago, and is well known in that locality. .
