The following amounts have been subscribed by the members of the Police department towards the erection of a monumt nt in memory of the late Sergeant Edward John Garvey, who met with his death while on duty having lost himself in a snow storm on the Kak mui Ranges, on the 24th September, 1863. And the late Constable John White Parker, whose death was accelerated by injuries received in the discharge of his duty.
