HIGHWAY ROBBERY UNDER ARMS.
£2Q Reward. . At 11 a.m. the ,14th September, 1863, Mr. Francis H. Yalpy, of the Weth erst one branch of the Bank of New South Wales, was sutck up about, two miles from Waipori, by 4 men armed and wearing black veils ; they told him they had been looking for him and the Waipori gold for three weeks. They then made him dismount, tied his hands, and searched him, but he had no property whatever on .him. They then marched him to the El Dorado Accommodation House, and stuck up- the landlord, Mr. Walker, from whom they, took £36, in notes, gold, and silver, returning £1 in silver after helping themselves to all sorts of drinks, and shouting 2 or 3 bottles for Mr. Valpy, they left, ' taking Mr. Valpy’s horse, riding whip, and spurs. Description of the horse :—A chesnut mare, 6 years’old, white face,. branded A on near shoulder, cut on off neck, the property of Mr. Ferrer,-Wetherstone’s. Description of the men: — Ist. 30 years’ old, 5 feet 9 inches high, stout build, short neck, dark brown round face, black moustache, no whiskers or beard; dressed in dark monkey jacket and. felt hat, earned a small white bundle. - : 2nd. Older than the first, ■ 5 feet 10 inches high, stout build, dark visage, whiskers - and beard worn all round, wore darkish moleskin or cloth trousers. -~

4th. A young man, 5 ft. 6 or 7 inches high, thin face, sandy complexion, lightish moustache and little beard on chin,' very slight whiskers; dressed in Crimean shirt and felt hat: had the appearance of bushmen.■ • The above reward of £5 for each man will be paid on conviction..
