ESCAPED PRISONER.

Escaped from the custody of Detective Cassells while under Escort from the Dunstan to Dunedin, under committal for trial for horse stealing, by slipping his handcuff while camped out about 2 milts from the Deep Stream: Thomas Barrow, from 26 to 30 years old, about 5 feet 7 inches high, slight build, long dark brown hair, whiskers and moustache, dressed in a reversible monkey jacket, napped light grey on one side, dark or black striped on the other, new grey and blue trousers, no vest, light coloured Crimean shirt with single dark stripe, yankee boots, and brown plush hat, wore a red sash round his waist; an Englishman, but looks and speaks like a yankee well known to the police on Lake Waikatipu. The detective offers a reward of £lO for his apprehension.
