MISSING FRIENDS.

Notice.—lf this should meet the eyes ,of John and William Murphy, they are requested to send their address to A. 8., Box 67, -Post;, office, Dunedin. The above-named are brothers who arrived in this Province from Geelong, by the “ St. Clair,” on the - 2nd -Feb-.; ruary last,' with horses, and are supposed to be packing in the interior.

Supposed drowned on the 4th of July instant, in the Pride of the Yorra steamer, when in'collision with the Favorite in Dunedin Harbour, James Thomas Frost, 42 or 43 years old, 5 feet 5 or 6 inches high, fair complexion, light hair, bald in front, little whiskers round chin, very stout; dressed in old blue monkey jacket, moleskin trousers, and blucher boots heavily nailed ; a bricklayer, had a trowel in ‘ his side coat pocket ; wiie and family reside in Stevenson-street, near the Cremorne Gardens, Richmond, Victoria.

Missing since the 16th of July instant from Boat Harbour near Saddle Hill, Allan . Cameron, 25 years old, 5 feet 7 inches high,’ ; dark hair and complexion, medium build, dressed in jacket, white moleskin trousers, and blue cap without peak, was taken from the Dunedin Hospital on the 15th July instant, where he had been confined for lunacy.

Information is requested of the present whereabouts of George Saunders Whicker, who is reported to have left Melbourne for

Otago within the last two years. The only particulars that can be given are, that he is about 26 years of age, and that his father was an attorney, practising at Chichester, Sussex, England. ’

Information is required respecting one James Stark who on the night of the 11th of April last was robbed of £IBO between Golden Square and Kangaroo Flat, Sandhurst. Vide Victorian Police Gazette , 16th April, 1863, page 142 —Mr. Stark- was formerly a railway sub-contl-actor at Kangaroo Flat, i and is reported' to have left ' Victoria for New Zealand. A portion of the money, a £ 100 note, has been recovered by the detective police, Melbourne, it is therefore requested that every exertion be used to trace him in order that he may take the necessary steps to recover the money.

Absconded from the immigration barracks, Dunedin, at 11 a.m. on the 6th July, 1863, a woman named Purvis, between 30 and 40 years old, sft. 6 or 7in. high, pale complexion, dark hair, dressed in a light print dress, shepherd’s plaid shawl, and brown felt hat with old black feather. She is much given to drink and had been labouring under delirium tremens.

To Constable James Sutton, Dunedin, the sum of £2 has been awarded from the Police Fund, in acknowledgment of the manner in which he acted in getting up the case against two men, Santy and Marryatt, for assaulting Constable Parker in the execution of his duty.
