L.T.C.L., were successful at the recent Trinity College practical examinations, conducted by Mr. Charles Vincent, F.T.C.L.: —Senior grade—Violet Feathers 93 (honors), Edna McTaggart 82 (honors). Intermediate —Ella Paterson 92 (honors), Marjorie Brown 90 (honors), Edna Calder 88 (honors), Rita Jacobson 86 (honors). .Junior grade—Louise Tonkin 94 (honors). Sheila Brown 91 (honors), Rhoda Watson 87 (honors), Roberta Hinklcy 82 (honors) At the recent Oamaru Competitions, Miss Ellie Holland, the ten-year-old daughter of Mr. and Mrs. T. Holland, Kilmore Street, was successful in gaining the first prize for pianoforte solo under 11 years" Beethoven's "Minuet in G." She also gained first prize in piano solo, "Fan Dance'' (under 13 years), gaining 86 marks with each item. The judge (Air. Denis) praised the competitor for her artistic expression, phrasing, and pedalling in both solo and duet. Miss Ellie Holland also passed the junior practical examination with 87 marks. She is a pupil of Miss K. Cartwright, L.T.C.L., L.A.B.
