Diocese of Auckland

(From our own Correspondent.)^ July 30. All arrangements in connection with St. Mary’s dance have been made, and a big list of invitations has been circulated by the energetic secretary (Miss Vera Sneddon). The function is to be held in Scott's Hall, Symond Street, and it is anticipated that it will eclipse last year’s success. * The Students’ Guild held its monthly reunion last Sunday at St. Benedict’s Hall. The Rev. .Brother Borgia, 8.A., presided over a large attendance of members. /- The Rev. L. Buxton, I).I)., was the lecturer, and he read a very interesting paper on the “Immortality of the Soul.” Members have decided to hold a dance, and a committee has been set up to make all arrangements. The annual picnic which has been so successful in previous years will take place in October. Miss Winifred Cooke of the Epsom parish leaves for Wellington shortly to take part in the Wellington competitions. She will be accompanied by her mother. Miss Cooke is a very clever musician, and has entered - for the pianoforte championship. She carries with her many wishes for success.
