Social at Kurow . (From a' correspondent.) A ; highly- successful euchre-party and" social was held iii 'the Kurow hall recently for thel purpose of creating a,; fund to provide requi- ~ y sites for - the Catholic church. Rev.; Father •/ Ardagh, our worthy priest, was present and ; explained the'rules of the game to 100 play- v ers. Nine games were played, and consider- ; ' able interest; was manifest, especially among ■< the ladies, as the prizes offered were valuable. The ladies' prize'was Avon by Mrs. as.; Cur- - - ran; gents' by Mr. M. Mulvena; the run- j •ncrs-up prizes by Mr. and Mrs. Gardner; and the least number of games by Mrs. Mercer, and Mr. Cochrane. A very nice supper was then partaken of, after which a short ' musical programme was rendered; J! Songs* ;. contributed Miss Ayson, Miss Norah - Lawlor, and Mr. J. Curran, and a step-dance ;/ by Miss N. Appleby. Dancing was then preceeded with, and was continued until 3 a.m. " The arrangements were well made and special credit is due to Mrs. M.
