St. Bede’s College, Christchurch

. DISTRIBUTION of prizes. n n The prize-giving ceremony in connection with St. Bede’s College took place at the Papanui Memoritl Hall on Wednesday evening December 12. There was a large attendance, including Bishop Brodie. '*• • .- - -p +i, Tlle J^ e Y - Father Kerley (in the absence of the rector, father Graham), in welcoming those present said their attendance demonstrated the interest the work of the college and would encourage the staff and the boys. The * U i^, 10n was being held in the hall on account of' the work which was being done at the college in the addition of an extra wing on the; building. When the college was first started it was _ believed that the accommodation would be sufficient and it was certainly encouraging to think that alter four years additions were, necessary. This was due to the support accorded to the college by parents. He hoped that by this time next year the distribution) of prizes would take place in the college study hall. Father Kerley reminded those present that the college had depended on mends and supporters for financial assistance and he bespoke support for the work done by the Fathers of the college. He thanked his Lordship for attending, stating that he had always taken a keen interest in the affairs of the college. ■d review,of the work of the college was given by the Kev. bather Burger, master of studies.
