MRS. MARGARET TAYLOR, NEW PLYMOUTH. The news of the death of Mrs. Margaret Taylor, which occurred at New Plymouth on Sunday. April 15, aroused sincere and widespread regret in Opnnake, where she was so well known (writes a. correspondent);— The late Mrs Taylor was the third daughter of Mr. and Mrs. J C O’Rourke, Opnnake, and her untimely death comes as a great bereavement to them and their family. She is survived by her husband and a young daughter. Requiem Mass for the repose of her soul was celebrated in St. Joseph’s Church, New Plymouth, by Rev Father Dillon, assisted 'by Rev. Father " Doolaghty The funeral, which was largely attended, took place at Okato, Rev. Father Kennedy officiating at the Church and graveside, assisted by Rev. MISS AILEEN TOGKER, STRATFORD. The death occurred at Stratford on March 21 of Miss Aileen Tocker, eldest daughter of. Mr. and Mrs! W L Tocker. The deceased, who was well known in Stratford and Wanganui, and highly esteemed on account of her amiable disposition, had been suffering for a considerable time and bore her pain with exemplary fortitude. She was attended in her last illness by the Sisters of the Missions and also by Rev. Father Maples, who officiated at the grave! side, and made feeling reference to the many good qualities of the deceased, and to her long association with the choir in Stratford. The Children of Mary formed a guard of honor on the cortege leaving the church, and the choir under the leadership of Rev. Father Maples, chanted at the graveside. There was a very large attendance of the public, and this, with the numerous wreaths received showed the great esteem in which the deceased was held by aII.—R.I.P. J

There passed away recently at Invercargill, one of the most highly respected' and best of onr Catholic parishioners in the person of Mrs. Mary Kaveney, wife of Mr Barth! olomew Kaveney, of Bonrke Street, ‘ Invercargill (writes a correspondent). About 18 months ago the deceased' had to undergo, a very serious operation, and though she made

a temporary recovery it soon became apparent that she was not to gain her former robust health. The manner in which she bore her , suffering was a great example of true Christian patience and fortitude. Her sufferings during the past few months must have been intense, yet she refused to take the medicine which was prescribed to alleviate the pain but declared she would accept the cross of suffering Inch was allotted to her. During her long illness she was must devotedly attended by Father Martin, who many times at much inconvenience to himself, brought her the consolations of her religion. The late Mrs. Kaveney was the mother of a large family of seventeen, of whom fourteen are still living.
