Obituary

MOTHER M. ST. CAJETAN (GILL), INSTITUTE OF NOTRE DAME DES MISSIONS, CAMBRIDGE. With sincere regret, we record the death of Mother M. St. Cajetan, who passed away at the Convent of Our Lady of the Missions, Cambridge, on December 30, 1922, in the 34th year of her ago and the 17th of her religious life. The deceased Sister, who was born at Kirwee, Canterbury, was the fifth daughter of the late James and Ellen Gill, sterling Irish Catholic parents, whose privilege it is to have six other children devoted to the special service of the Church, namelyßev. A. Gill, C.SS.R. (Limerick); Sister M. Fintan (Perth); Mother Mary of the Rosary (Abbotsford), and three Sisters of the Mission, Mother St. Maxentia, Mother St. Aquinas, and Mother Chanel. Mother M. St. Cajetan was for the last six years in charge of the Cambridge Convent School, where she endeared herself to the hearts of Sisters, people, and children by her gentle and lovable disposition. By the death of this holy and capable religious, the community to which she belonged has sustained a severe loss. To its members, as well as to her clear mother, brother, and sisters, we extend our sincerest sympathy. On Monday, January 1, Requiem Mass for the repose of her soul was celebrated in the Cambridge Church by his Lordship Bishop Liston. The clergy present were Rev. Father Kirrane, Rev. Father Egan, S.J., Rev Father Kelly (cousin of the deceased), Rev. Father Curley, and Rev. Father Taylor. v About 40 religious of her Order who were making their annual Retreat at the Hamilton Convent assisted at the Mass, and followed the mortal remains of their beloved Sister to the Cambridge cemeterv, where his Lordship officiated.—P.
