SISTER M. GABRIEL,' REEFTON. With sincere regret the death is recorded of Sister M. Gabriel, of-the local convent. The deceased Sister was a* daughter of Air. and Mrs. Jas. Guilfoyle, of Golden Grove, Sydney. About eight years ago she came to ’New Zealand to join the Sisters of Alercy in Westport, where she labored until the beginning of this year. For some months she was engaged in teaching in the Reefton parish school, but was obliged, through ill-health, to give up all active- work. She bore her long and tedious illness with true Christian fortitude, edifying all who came in contact with her." The ■ late Sister M. Gabriel was of. a bright and cheerful nature, and had '"endeared herself to her many pupils in the est- , port and Reefton districts. Solemn .Requiem Alass for the : repose of her soul was celebrated at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, November 29, and the funeral followed immediately afterwards. The following clergy were present;Rev. Fathers AlcDonald and Herbert, S.AI. (Reefton), Bowe and Brough- - ton (Westport), Shore and Regan (Greymouth), Fogarty (Ahaura), Eccleton, S.AI. (Marist Alissioner). Rev. Father Herbert officiated at the Requiem and at the obsequies. . An appropriate sermon was preached by Rev. Father Eccleton, S.AI, A large concourse of friends followed the - remains to the suburban cemetery.—l.P.
