The Thomas Moore competitions were held last Satur- J day, and Potone Convent children were successful in win- "1 ning the three shields, which is a record (writes a correspondent). The judge (Mr. Watkins) complimented the < winning choirs on their exceptionally clear enunciation Af and the sweetness of their freah young voices. The standard this year eclipsed previous years, and the children, ' I also their conductor (Mr. Foote) and accompanist (Miss . Bolton), are to be complimented on the success achieved.
