THE LAND OF LIVE OVER AGAIN.
Oh, the land of Jive over again is a land, A land that is fair to our dreams, A land we all long for, that we have a song for And sometimes a sigh ; too, it seems. ’Tis a land where we’ll know each day how to do, \ To leave no heartburning regrets, " To give' no one pain, to bear not a hurt, To pay all of honor’s own debts. Our love will be known at last to our own, Our lives will be happy and calm . To run as a brook thro’ the meadow of dreams, Yes, all of a prayer , and a song '' , ' \ ■ J Our days will be fair, Awe’ll never cast doubts To cloud or to darken the sky In that land, oh, that land we glimpse now afar. Somewhere in the sweet by and by. We’ll lay down our heads when the day’s work is done, Sweetly on pillows of down, In the thought that the day was well spent * And with never a doubt or a frown. Our years will run into glad summers of ease, Nor we’ll dread winter’s cold, nor its pain, In that land, oh, that land that shall quiet our regrets, The land of live over again. —Dr. James Henderson, in the Catholic Bulletin.
