A well-attended meeting of the parishioners of Northeast Valley was held on last Monday night in the Sacred Heart Schoolroom, Very Rev. Father Coffey presiding. It was decided to promote a sale of work to acquire funds for the -purchase of a property adjacent to the Sacred Heart Church. q a Advantage was taken by the members of St. Patrick's Sodality of Children of Mary, South Dunedin, at their meeting on last Sunday afternoon, to make a presentation to one of their number—Miss May Brown—prior to her marriage , In asking Miss Brown to accept fa framed picture and a handsomely-bound book, Rev. Father - Graham voiced the good wishes of her fellow sodalists for the recipient s future welfare, and appreciation of . her faithful soSity. aUd Gdifying exam P le over a lengthy period: in the .Mrs. M. A. Jackson, who has occupied : a seat on 'the Otago Hospital and Charitable Aid Board during many years announces her candidature for the forthcoming election, to take place next Wednesday (April 27) i Mrs Jackson s work during a lengthy period on the Board, and on social and char,table organisations generally, is well known. As president of St. Joseph's Conference of the. St.. The second annual report, read bv the secretary (Miss A. Quinn) stated -that the membership, although somewhat less than the previous year, made up for the small deficiency by their ; recent enthusiastic suppoit.
