HIBERNIAN SOCIETY, TIMARU.
The half-yearly meeting of St. Mary’s branch of the Hibernian Society, Timaru, was held in St. John’s Hall last week. The president (Bro. C. Sullivan) presided over a large attendance of members. The sick visitors reported that all the members on the sick fund were progressing favorably. Sick pay to the amount of £7 15s was passed for payment. The balance sheet and auditors’ report were adopted. The election of officers resulted as follows:—President, Bro. C. Conlon ; vice-president, Bro. W. Stirling; secretary, Bro. P. Mahoney; treasurer, Bro. J. Sullivan ; warden, Bro. M. J. Sullivan; guardian, Bro. J. Collins; sick visitors, Bros. C. Sullivan and R. Marlow ; auditors, Bros. J. G. Venning and R. Marlow; delegate to Dispensary Board, Bros. J. O’Leary and B. Conlon ; Friendly Society Council, Bros. J. G. Venning and B. Conlon; delegates to Catholic Federation, Bros. C. Sullivan and R. Marlow ; canopy - bearers, Bros. J. G. Venning, M. J. O’Sullivan, F. O’Connell, and R. Marlow. The retiring president installed the newly-elected officers and congratulated them on their election. They all suitably replied. One member was initiated and 14. candidates were proposed for membership. Accounts amounting to £lO3 5s 3d were passed for payment.
