OBITUARY
MRS. HANNAH BOURKE, ROSLYN, DUNEDIN, With very sincere regret, the death is recorded of Mrs. Hannah Bourke, wife of Mr. John Bourke, Shetland Street, Roslyn, Thmedin, who passed away, suddenly, on Tuesday, November 25. The deceased was the only sister of Mrs. M. A. Jackson, a lady well known for her charitable and social work in this city. The late Mrs. Bourke, who was a daughter of Mrs. and the late Richard East, was born in Auckland, her parents being early residents of that district. In early life she taught in the Catholic schools of Dunedin, and was married to Mr. Bourke about 37 years ago by Bishop Moran, and her whole married life was spent in Dunedin. Although of a quiet and retiring disposition, the late Mrs. Bourke was most charitable in her actions, and performed much good work in the interests of the distressed and needy. • She is survived by her husband and a family of five daughters and three sons, and also a number of grandchildren. Requiem Mass for tho ropose of her soul was celebrated at St. Joseph's Cathedral, by Father Kaveney, who also officiated at the interment in tho Southern Cemetery.—R.l.P.
