T rom Boston, the home of many a new movement of. a civic, patriotic, and metaphysical character, has emne an organization known as'The Catholic Truth Guild to yvangeiise the man in the street“to make the Catholic Church better known and loved.” This new venture was launched on historic Boston Common on the fourth of July, .19.1.7, after its founders ami their perambulating rostrum were blessed by j Mis Eminence William Cardinal O’Connell under whose patronage The Guild of Catholic Truth was told to “proceed on its simple, humble and triumphant way.” The Guild was founded by Mrs. Martha Moore Avery, its President, and David Goldstein, its secretary, both converts to the Catholic faith. Ills Eminence Cardinal Bourne, who, from the beginning, has shown the keenest interest in the great movement of the mights and Handmaids of the Blessed Sacrament, has lately given a new proof of his admiration of all that they'are doing, hy the grant of an indulgence for wearing the official badge. The Crusade is an open profession of holy. pride & in onr Faith and our personal service to our Divine Comm an d;er- in-Chief. The new Crusaders wear an official badge—a cross with the Monstrance for the ,Knights, and a chalice' for the Handmaids The Knight Director is the Rev. Edmund Lester, S.-L and there are a hundred thousand Knights and tens of thousands of Handmaid's throughout the world.
