NAPIER CONVENT PUPILS' RE-UNION

A very. pleasant gathering in the nature of a reunion .of the old pupils and boarders of the Napier Convent Schools, took place at the institution recently, when, in addition to the Sisters, some 200 young ladies assembled. A dainty dinner was served in the large schoolroom, Messrs. Sheehan and Sons being the caterers. The tables, which were arranged by the boarders, were tastefully decorated with yellow and cream flowers, ribbons and electrical effects in the same shade. Brief but interesting addresses were made by Father Dowling and Rev. Mother, after which a very enjoyable concert was provided by the boarders and Maori girls. The items contributed by the latter were especially enjoyed, and were 'comprised of the Tawai, Poi, and other native dances, in original costume, also several well rendered songs. Other numbers were—Pianoforte duet, Misses B. Eales and E. Sattler, and K. Dineen • and M. Windle ; solos, E. Sattler and K. Dineen; violin solo, M. Collison ; military dance, P. Neagle; Scotch dance, E. Kirk; recitation, R. Neagle. A thoroughly enjoyable evening was spent by all.
