MARIST MISSIONERS IN AUSTRALIA

The Very Rev. Father Taylor, S.M., and Rev. Father McCarthy, S.M., gave a very successful mission at Villa Maria, Hunters Hill, during two recent weeks. Crowded congregations attended each evening, and especially the last Friday of the mission, which was set apart for a great ceremony in honor of the Blessed Sacrament. Father McCarthy preached an eloquent sermon on the Sacred Heart of the Eucharistic Lord. On the closing Sunday evening of the mission the seating accommodation was taxed to its utmost. The ceremony of the renewal of baptismal vows was a glorious sight, everyone in. the congregation holding a -lighted candle, and pronouncing aloud the promises after the missioner. The missioners have given very successful missions at St. Joseph's, Camperdown; and at St. Patrick's, Sydney; and were, according to latest advices, conducting a fortnight's mission at St. Charles', Ryde, of which Rev. Father E. Gell is pastor,, and at the end of which they begin at Epping and Gosford.
