Lyttelton

A very impressive ceremony took place at the Convent of Mercy, Lyttelton, on Thursday, July 26 (writes a correspondent), when Sister M. Francis Daly made her Act of Profession, and Miss Margaret Hackett (in religion, Sister Mary Benignus) received the holy habit of a Sister of Mercy. His Lordship Bishop Brodio officiated and preached, taking for his text, "What shall it profit a man," etc. (St. Matt.). His Lordship was assisted by Rev. Dr. Kennedy, Adm. Rev. Father Cooney and Rev. Father Morkane were also present. The music of the Mass and ceremony was sung by the Sisters.
