SERGEANT DANIEL M. MORI ARTY. Sergeant Daniel Michael Moriarty, Canterbury Battalion, Bth Reinforcements (wounded), was, prior to enlisting, a member of the Christchurch police force, and resigned to enlist. His mother lives at Middlemarch. He was a favorite amongst members of the force. He was a clever boxer and good athlete, and played football for the Marist Club, Christchurch. Sergeant Moriarty was 23 years of age, and from reports received by his comrades he was credited with being a capable young non-com.
