(From our own correspondent.) In connection with the ‘ Our Day ’ celebration in this town—when the various local churches collected individually for the fund— Catholic church finished third on the list, collecting over dllso for the day. The parents of Sergeant Frank Brophy have received advice of his being wounded in France. It is understood from information received that the wounds are not serious, and that the genial Frank is doiner well. 5 News has been received by Mr. P. O’Connor, of this town, that his third son Thomas Arthur has been reported as missing. Private O’Connor was a wellknown and much respected citizen and his many friends expectantly await news of all being well with him. At the annual meeting of the; local branch of the sodality of the Children of Mary following officers were elected: President, Miss Nan Mnriarty ; vicepresident, Miss Mary McCormick; secretary, Miss F. Brophy; treasurer, Miss M. Quigley councillors, Misses C. McCormick and M. Cooper.
