(From our own correspondent.)
//. - April 17. ' A very successful - fortnights mission, conducted by the. Rey. Fathers -Taylor; and Herring, S.M.; was concluded last evening, when Father Taylor preached an impressive sermon on ‘Perseverance.’ The attendance of the people during the course of . the mission was very edifying. The church was generally crowded at all the Masses, and it was difficult to find accommodation for those present at the evening devotions. The eloquent discourses on the teachings of the Church were in/ the highest degree instructive, and : the Catholics of Hokitika will ever remember the visit : of / the Rev. Fathers Taylor and Herring. Last evening the people renewed their Baptismal" vows, after which the Rev. Father Taylor gave the Papal blessing. s '
