Messrs. Stronach, Morris, and Co., Limited, report for week ended Tuesday/February 29, 1916, as follows:
Rabbitskins.—We held a sale yesterday, when we submitted a small catalogue to the usual attendance of buyers. All lines were keenly competed for and there was a rise of £d to Id per lb all round. Prime winter does, to 26d; second winter does, to 23|d; best winter bucks, to 22d; second winter bucks, to"20d; racks, to 12d; autumns, to 17*d; hareskins, to Hid; horse hair, to 18fd per lb. Sheepskins. Our next sale will be held on March 7. Hides.—We held our fortnightly sale on Thursday, when we submitted a medium catalogue to the usual attendance of buyers. Competition was not very good and values receded considerably. Quotations: Stout heavy ox, to lOd; medium, to BJd; light, 7d-to 8d; cow hides, stout heavy, to B§d; best calfskins, to medium, from 5d to 9d; damaged and inferior, 3d to 6d per lb.. Oats.— season's grain is now coming forward, and buyers are not prepared to operate to any extent at present. There is a good demand for good feed lines, and these meet with ready sale for local consumption. Quotations: Prime milling, 3s 2d to 3s 3d; good to best feed, 3s to 3s 2d; inferior to medium, 2s 9d to 2s lid per bushel (sacks extra). Wheat. Samples of the new season's crop - have been coming to hand freely, but as millers are not prepared to make offers except at. reduced-rates, few sales have been effected. Fowl wheat is in fairly good demand at slightly reduced prices. ■-
