The annual retreat of the clergy commences on Monday at Holy Cross College, and will be conducted by the Very Rev. Father Gleeson, C.SS.R., Waratah, N.S.W. ■ On Sunday there was Exposition of the Blessed Sacrament at St. Joseph’s Cathedral from the last Mass until after Vespers, wfyen the usual procession, followed by Benediction of the Blessed Sacrament, took place. There were good congregations at the Masses, celebrated at 6,7, 8, and 11 o’clock, at St. Joseph’s Cathedral on New Year’s Day. Large numbers approached the Holy Table at the early Masses. Mass was celebrated at 7 o’clock at the Church of the Sacred Heart, North-east Valley, and at 8.30 at the Church of the Immaculate Conception, Kaikorai.
