The ceremony of blessing a number of handsome new stained-glass windows in St. George’s .Church, Carlton, was performed by his Grace Coadjutor-Arch-bishop Manuix on a recent Sunday. The windows have been provided by various donors at a total .cost of over £llOO. Archbishop Man nix, after thanking the donors for their generous gifts, said there was another reason why he was glad of the opportunity of speaking to them. It. was to acknowledge their generosity in connection with ,the appeal on behalf of the proposed Catholic College at the Melbourne University. A few days ago he was able to announce by circular that they had received ,£24,000 of the .£30,000 required as the condition for obtaining the donation of £30,000 to the endowment fund of the college, and they were now within measurable distance of being able to claim the donation.
