(From our own correspondent.) December 20. Rev. Father Ryan, S.J., who is at present giving a retreat to the Nuns of the Sacred Heart, preached at the evening devotions on Sunday, and also gave a short instruction to the Children of Mary at their monthly meeting, which was held in the afternoon.' On Tuesday evening last a very large audience assembled in the hall of the girls’ school for the concert which was given by the pupils as a finish to their year’s y/ork, and also to raise funds to procure prizes. The first part of the programme consisted of action songs and recitations by the infants, a hoop drill by the pupils of Standard I,; song and chorus, ‘ Bluebells,’ by Standard 11. The senior girls were responsible for some pleasing choruses and also for a violet and cymbal drill in costume. Pianoforte solos were played by a

number of the pupils. The second part consisted' of ‘ A Christmas miracle' play by the'children, who performed their parts very creditably and reflected great credit on the nuns for. their excellent training. A very beautifully arranged tableau'of the Nativity concluded the evening’s entertainment. :
