OBITUARY
MR. ADAM W. BURNES. WELLINGTON. The death occurred on December 3 at Seatoun of Mr. Adam Wm. Burnes. The late Mr. Burnes, whose father was the first manager of the National Bank in New Zealand, was born in the Dominion 56 years ago, but resided for some time in England. He held tire position of resident agent at Oamaru for the Government Life Insurance, but on the closing of that office some three years ago he was transferred to Wellington. Mr. Burnes was at one time a prominent athlete in Wellington, being an active sculler, yachtsman, and representative footballer. He leaves a widow, but no family.—R.l.P.
MRS. C. CASEY, WANGANUI. We (Wanganui Herald) regret to announce the death of another of the old identities of this coast, in the person of Mrs. C. Casey, .who passed away on Friday morning-, December 3, at her residence, Marybank, Wanganui. The late Mrs. Casey, arrived in New Zealand in 1870, a'nd resided for almost forty years in the Taranaki district, where she was held in very high respect among a large circle of friends. During the past eight years she had lived in Wanganui. She leaves a husband, twelve children, and a number of grandchildren to mourn their loss. Her family include Mr. J. J. Casey (Palmerston North), Mr. F. Casey (Eltham), Mr. M. Casey (Waverley), Messrs. C. and J. Casey (Wanganui), Mrs. A. Hughes (Hawera), Sisters De Sales and Gerard (Sisters of St. Joseph), and Misses. A., C, K., and M. Casey, of Marybp,nk.—
