Mother of St. Joseph's Convent has received a report from the principal of the Home Study College, Sydney, on the examination papers sent to him some time ago, in which he says:—‘l have just finished going through the examination papers you sent me some time ago, and I now have the pleasing duty of informing you that all your candidates have achieved a most distinguished success. All the papers sent in give evidence of a very high degree of work, both in the practical as well as in the theoretical section, and from what I see before me, I have no hesitation in stating that not only are the pupils most zealous and industrious when following out this line of work, but the teaching must be of a first-class character. lam enclosing a list of the marks gained by each candidate, and you will note that the average gained in every case is particularly high. During the last three or four years, no convent has obtained 100 per cent, in all sections at any particular examination. It is only on rare occasions that they obtain 100 per cent, in any one section. Therefore, you may regard it in the light of a certainty that your work on this occasion was something above the ordinary.’ The following were the results : —Elementary bookkeeping—Grace Lyon, 100; Maud Jeffares, 100. Elementary typewriting— Jeffares, 100; Grace Lyon, 100. Intermediate shorthand— Jeffares, 100; Grace Lyon, 100. This is the only case in the last three years where all the pupils have gained 100 per cent, • . - ' ■' ♦
