ST. VINCENT DE PAUL SOCIETY, WANGANUI
In their seventh quarterly report (lie Particular • Council of the St. Vincent dc Paul Society, Wanganui, the members on the excellence and variety of the work performed during the quarter. They are pleased to note that, according to the reports, there is a considerable sum in hand in the aggregate for poor relief and other worthy works. The number of reports received during the quarter was in excess of that received the previous one, eight out of a possible nine coming to hand. It is pleasing to report that the conferences on the whole have responded promptly to the council’s calls for financial assistance. The Particular Council held four monthly meetings during the quarter, at which there was an average attendance of seven out of a membership of nineteen. Reports had been received from the following conferences, giving details of their work, and receipts and expenses,:—St. Mary’s (Wanganui), St. Joseph’s (Aramoho), St. Joseph’s (New Plymouth), St. Patrick’s (Palmerston North), St. Mary’s (Foxton), St. Lawrence’s Women’s Auxiliary Conference (Wanganui), Ladies’ Auxiliary Conference (Palmerston North), St. Agnes’ Women’s Auxiliary Conference (Ilawera). In conclusion, the Council, while congratulating the members generally on their efforts, urge all concerned to bring their best energies to the work before them during the coming term.
