The Minister of Finance was asked on Monday whether, he had heard any news about what has given rise to the rumor that New Zealand was contemplating the rafeing of a loan on the London market. Mr. Allen replied that he had not. At present we are not under the necessity of going to London for money,’ he said. ‘ Our finances are easy just now, but I ought to say that we do not know what every succeeding month may bring about. If the deposits in the Post Office Savings Bank keep up to their present monthly rate we shall be under no necessity of raising loans .in London.’ • - v ■
