WELLINGTON DIOCESAN COUNCIL. The monthly meeting of the Executive Committee of the Wellington Diocesan Council was held at Archbishop’s House, Patterson street, Wellington, on Monday, November 2. The Very Rev. - Dean McKenna, Y.-G., occupied the chair, and the following members were present; Rev. Father Daly (vice-president), Messrs. B. Ellis, Parsonage, Corry, Seivers, and the secretary (Mr. W. F. Johnson). The minutes of the previous meeting were read and confirmed, and the correspondence— inward and outward and considered. The diocesan treasurer (Mr. Ellis) submitted the statement of accounts for the quarter ending September 30. The half-yearly meeting of the Diocesan Council will be held at Wellington on January 21, 1915. The secretary was instructed to notify parish committees as soon as possible, so that the committees may have time to consider any questions they may wish to bring under the notice of the Council. All remits from parish committees must reach the hands of the secretary to the Council by Wednesday, December 2. Remits' will be placed upon the agenda paper in the order in which they are received, so that parish committees are advised to send them in at the earliest opportunity, as there will no doubt be a large amount of business before' the Council at that meeting. Any member of the Federation in the archdiocese who may have suggestions to make, or subjects for discussion, is requested to send them in to the parish committee, which will, after consideration and approval,, remit the same to the Diocesan Council for consideration. Electoral Enrolments. activity has been displayed by all parish committees in the city in placing the names of Catholic electors upon the rolls. Members of the committees were in attendance at all the Masses at each church on Sunday last, and the result of their labors is considered .highly satisfactory, -Similar arrangements have been made for each Sunday until the writs are issued, so that Catholics who are entitled to vote will have no excuse for being left off the rolls. .. _ ‘ ... ■; ■ . ... Bible in Schools.—Great satisfaction; is felt here at the result of the division on this ' question in the House of Representatives on Friday . last. -r- The - figures (46 to 17) show that the question was never in ''doubt

as far as .the House was concerned, and they also show that a considerable * number of members failed to vote : on - the : question. •■■■■'■
