Which is the Best Way to Make Tea ? , The best way to make tea is to take a clean ( earthenware pot, make it thoroughly hot, then place the tea therein, a tcaspoonful for each person. The water to be used should boil, then be immediately poured on the tea. If allowed to boil over, the peculiar property of boiling water which acts upon tea evaporates and eventually disappears. The tea should be allowed to draw six minutes and then be poured out, as in this way you gain the full flavor, quality, and strength without extracting the tannin, which is so injurious to the digestive organs. Eggs With Anchovy. Flake a couple of anchovies with a fork, put with them .a half-teaspoonful of onion juice and a little pepper. Mix with them a half-cupful of bread crumbs, a tablespoonful of melted butter, and the yolks of two eggs. Spread this on the bottom of a shallow baking dish, set it in the oven long enough to heat and brown the mixture; break v carefully upon the paste six eggs, or break each separately into a saucer and slide from this into the dish one at a time that the eggs may keep their shape. Return the dish to the oven, let it remain there until the whites arc firm, and then serve. Eggs an Ideal Food. Eggs arc ideal food for children as well as grownups. There is a large proportion of iron in the yolk, also fat. Thus the blood and the bones are strengthened. The white of egg contains albumen, which is most valuable a flesh-former. There are just a few ]>eople who can never digest eggs. Some young children become sick after eating them, but they generally grow out of it. As a rule, it is the white which disagrees. Try giving the child the yolk only for a time.

Never give fried eggs to little ones. Boil or poach them. To cook an egg without hardening the white place it in boiling water, cover it, then lift the saucepan back from the fire at once. Let it stand for eight minutes. he white becomes like a jelly and is easily digested. Cleaning Feathers. It would be most unhygienic to attempt to fill a bed with uncleaned feathers. To clean them, make a lather of boiled soap in a large tub, empty the feathers into it, and wash them well. Rinse in two or three waters, shake them out on a. sheet, and drain for an hour. Sew a pair of largo sheets together, like a large hag, put the feathers into it, hang over a line or spread on a hedge or bushes, and shake well every twenty minutes until the feathers are dry. This should be done on a hot day, and when there is sun and wind. The fewer feathers in a bag the better, and for a bed several large bags would be necessary. Unless well shaken frequently and dried quickly the feathers lose their elasticity. Household Hints. To clean a mackintosh or dark clothes from mud stains, brush off all the mud and rub all stains with the cut surface of a raw potato, then sponge with clear water, using a. piece of dark material for sponging. Try wetting the stains on your table linen with sweet milk and then plunging them at once in the tub containing the suds ’ ready for washing. This is an easy and sure way of removing all fruit and the troublesome tea and coffee stains. Do not let the milk dry in the linen, but while saturated place at once in the wash tub. In slicing bacon, always place the rind side down. Ho not try to cut through the rind, but when a sufficient number of slices are cut, slip the knife under them, keeping it as close as possible to the rind.
