Rev. Father Tymons, S.M., who has been appointed to succeed Rev. Father Lezcr, arrived here on Saturday. Rev. Fattier Meynard, S.M., who has been assisting Rev. Father Kerley in the parochial duties, left for the north last week.

On June 1 the Children qf Mary held a euchre party in the Catholic Club rooms, and on Monday last the promoters of the refreshment stall for the forthcoming bazaar held a similar function in the Catholic schoolroom, both gatherings being well supported.

The first step in preparing the site of the new school has been taken. The building, which for some years has been used as club rooms, has been pulled down, and during the present month the school wall be removed to this site to allow for the building of the new school on the same ground as the old one. Mr. J. Broadhead, of Timaru, has been entrusted with the drawing of the plans and supervising the erection of the new school.
