Held Over Owing to pressure on our space several St. Patrick’s Day reports which came late to hand have been unavoidably held over. - .... 1 The Social Study Text-books The two principal text-books for the C.S.G. course of study for the current year. 4 Primer of Social Science and The Science of Wealth —were sent out a week ago to all those who have definitely announced themselves' as intending candidates for the examination ; and the remaining books prescribed — The Pope and the People, The Condition of the Working Classes, and The Social Question and the Duty of Catholics, published by the Catholic Truth Society, will be forwarded in a few days. As has been already mentioned in these columns, the total price for the first two books, including postage, is 3s 9d. The price for the later instalment, The Pope and the People, etc., including postage, is Is &d. Those who have not already paid will receive accounts from us in due course. An examination fee of Is is also due from each candidate, and as this has to reach the C.S.G. office by June 1, it would require to be in our hands about the middle of April. In the cases where this fee has not already been paid it will be included in the book accounts to be sent out by us. We have received several orders for the text-books from applicants, priests and others, who are not, candidates for the examination ; and these will be held over for a week or two so as to give the actual competitors the first chance. One or two of the applicants for books have not stated whether or not they intend to sit for the examination. If any candidates who have forwarded their names to us have not received the first instalment of books, we will be . glad if they will let us know, so that the omission may be promptly rectified.
