Owing To the wet weather during the latter part of the week, and the consequent state of the grounds, all cricket fixtures in Dunedin on Saturday were postponed. The ‘Shamrocks’ (St. Mary’s Old Boys) have again entered a team for the Wednesday cricket championship, and are hopeful this year of carrying off the championship (writes our Blenheim correspondent).

W. Higgins. one of the most stylish and promising young cricketers in Dunedin, distinguished himself on Saturday week in playing for Opoho against Grange by scoring 108 runs, the first century of the season in Dunedin.

In first grade cricket in Christchurch on Saturday Riccarton 340 (H. B. Whitta 99, A. Norman 72) beat West Christchurch 247 and 90 for two wickets. St. Albans 433 beat East Christchurch 163 and 68. Sydenham 259 beat Linwood 56 and 89.

The Catholic boys' school has again carried off the primary schools' cricket competition by defeating the Main School in the final by 91 to 56 runs (writes our Timaru correspondent). The chief scorers for the winners were Lynch, Houlehan, Angland, Sullivan, and O'Connell. The sports master of the school has to be congratulated on the great success attending the boys in all classes of sport.

Marists, 110 (Thompson 30, Sloane 22, Matthews 20); West Christchurch, 43 (Wildermoth 16, Williams 10). For West Christchurch, Williams and Wildermoth took the wickets; for Marists, Thompson and Batchelor.

In a match on November 22 (writes our Wellington correspondent), Austral met the Catholic Young Men's Club, with the following result: —Austral, 107 and none for 14 (Lambert 41, Thomson 36, Grice 11), Catholic Young Men's Club, 59 (O'Sullivan 11, Bradley 10). Bowling for Austral, Vare took four wickets for 21, Thomson two for 14, and Wetherall one for 17. Bowling for Catholic Young Men, Carruthers took six wickets, Connell two, and Hopkins one. Playing cricket last Saturday in the boys' league (senior division), Marist Brothers A defeated Institute by four wickets (writes our Wellington correspondent). The chief scorers for Marist were Demuth 27, Ryan 12, Marshment 10. Y.M.C.A. defeated Marist Brothers B by an innings and 19 runs.- In the junior division Marist Brothers A defeated Y.M.C.A. by four runs. Marist Brothers B defeated Kilbirnie by six wickets. The fourth round of the senior cricket championship commenced on Saturday in Auckland on soft wickets. The results were as follow:—University 130 (Airey 36, Taylor 34) v. Waitemata 94 for one wicket (A. Dunning not out 53). For Waitemata Aiblaster took eight wickets for 56 runs. Ponsonby 202 (Kavanagh 54, Collins 34) v. Parnell 12 for no wickets. Moore took four wickets for 23 runs. North Shore 206 (Sale 107, Howie 47) v. Eden A 86 for three wickets. Hay (Eden) took seven wickets for 64 runs. Eden B 77 v. Grafton 123 for four wickets (W. Horspool 48). Harvie (Grafton) took seven wickets for 28 runs.

The senior cricket championships were continued on Saturday in Wellington. The weather was cold and showery at times. East B made 237 runs in their first innings against Victoria College (Bowles 76, Walter SO, Grimmett 48). Duncan (four wickets for 42 runs) and Dickson (four for 62) bowled best. College had two wickets down for 42 when stumps were drawn.

Central occupied the crease all the afternoon against North, making 241 runs (Burton 53, Kinvig 45, flickson o 9). Quinn (two wickets for 36 runs), Twohill (two for 56), and Hiddleston (three 1 for 65) bowled best. OTd Boys met Hutt and put on 299 runs (D. Hay 114, Grace 53). Hutt had 8 on for no wickets when play stopped. East A made 88 runs against Petone, Midlane contributing 44. Petone had seven wickets down for 203 when stumps were drawn, Doneghire making 53.
