Doubtful.—There is no recognised Catholic writer of the name you mention. The theologian referred to is probably Suarez, a Spanish writer of the sixteenth century. You may take it as certain that your friend never saw the writings of Suarez, which number 23 volumes, and is taking his impression from garbled and mutilated extracts, torn from their context, and made to convey a meaning entirely different from the real teaching of the author. °
