Kaponga
(From our own correspondent.)
The dairying season in this highly-favored district is coming to a close, and the farmers and their assistants will enjoy a well-earned holiday.
The many friends •of the Barleyman family, of Rowan road, heard with regret of the sudden death of Mr. W. J. Barleyman on April 24. The funeral took place on Sunday to the Kaponga cemetery, and was probably the largest ever seen in this district, 1 testifying to the esteem in which the deceased gentleman-was held in ,Taranaki, and to the sympathy of the public with the bereaved family. The funeral service was conducted by the Rev. Father Cahill, who also addressed the assemblage at the graveside, and extolled the noble characteristics .01 the late Mr. Barleyman.—R.l.P. ''^
