A very useful device has recently been” invented by Father J. H. Murphy, of Cork. It is a contrivance which makes it possible to keep carriage windows open at any point by a simple arrangement of a screw and spring. The invention can be applied inexpensively to existing windows, and it is already in use on two local railways. Patents have been secured for many countries. J
