THE LATE REV. FATHER COGNET, S.M.

It is with regret (writes our Wellington correspondent) I have to record the death of the Rev. Father Cognet, S.M., pastor of Otaki, which occurred at the presbytery, Boulcott street, on Tuesday, December 24. The deceased, who was fifty-five years of age, came to New Zealand about twenty-five years ago from France. He was for some time stationed at Otaki,

after which he went to Taranaki, returning to Otaki about , three years ago. For some time past his health had been very unsatisfactory, ; and his end was not unexpected. , The remains were taken to Otaki for interment.R.l.P.
