A. cable message received in Sydney states that the Eev. Father John Byrnes, late Administrator at St.- Benedict's, George street, West Sydney, died in Dublin on November 28. The late-Father Byrne was born in Dublin in 1859, and after being educated in the Propaganda College, .Rome,- spent three years as priest in his native parish. . He accompanied the late Cardinal Moran to Sydney in 1885, and was attached to the staff of St. Mary's Cathedral durin<* the next seven'years, for five of which he was administrator;. Afterwards he was parish priest at Wollongong, and during the past two and a half years administered the parish of St. Benedict's, George street west. In the beginning of this year he left to pay a visit to Ireland.
