CHRISTCHURCH CATHOLIC CLUB

(From the club correspondent.) ' v , December 13. On Friday evening, the annual Christmas reunion of the Catholic Club was held in the clubrooms, there being a very good attendance of members and friends. The ■ programme consisted of progressive euchre and musical items. During an interval light refreshments were partaken of, and the prizes presented to the successful players. The lady's prize was won by Miss Gough, and the gentleman's by Mr. D. O'Connell. After presenting the prizes, the president, Mr. E. T. Harper, in a happy speech, thanked one and all for their presence , there that evening, and also the performers for their excellent programme," and, in" conclusion, on behalf of the members of the club, extended to all the compliments of the season. The following contributed to the programme:Piano solo, v Mr. P. Augarde : trio for nionn ttinli-n nr ,A „i<,*.,*«»,„a : Vr« Augarde, B. Riordan, and ; T. O'Connor; songs, Miss O'Connor, Miss Sugden, Messrs. F. : Rowe v. and R. Moloney. The accompaniments were' nicely played by Miss K. O'Connor and Mr., P. Augarde. .
