• The scholastic year -at St, Philomena’s College, South Dunedin, was brought to a close on Thursday morning. In the absence of the Eight Rev. Dr. Verdon, the Rev. Father Delany presided at the distribution, and the Rev. Father O’Neill was also present. During the course of the proceedings several choice musical items, vocal and instrumental, were contributed by the young ladies. The annual report- stated that eminently satisfactory results had been obtained during the year, both in religious and secular branches of study. The students responded to the generous interest taken in them by the Sisters, and by their conduct and scholastic attainments satisfied the expectations of both teachers and parents. The Rev.
