DEATH OF A CARDINAL. Cardinal Coullie, Archbishop of Lyons, died on September 11, after a protracted illness. Cardinal Coullie was born in Paris on March 15, 1829, and was Archbishop of Lyons for several years previous to his elevation to the Cardinalate by Pope Leo XIII. in 1897. Cardinal Coullie is the third member of the Sacred College to die within the year.
