(From our own correspondent.) The annual general meeting of the Catholic Young Men's Club was held in the clubrooms on Tuesday evening last. Mr. M. J. Burgess : (president) occupied the chair, and there was a good attendance of members. The report and balance sheet, which were adopted, showed the club to, be in a sound financial : position, the assets totalling close on £7O, while the liabilities were nil. Several of the members spoke in complimentary terms of the year's workings,- attributing such result to the untiring efforts of the president (Mr. M. J. Burgess) and the club's popular and painstaking secretary (Mr. J. Lennon). The election of officers for the ensuing year resulted as follows: Patron, Very Rev. Dean O'Donnell; president, Mr. W. J. Cunningham vice-president, Mr. M. J. Moriarty; secretary, Mr..-J. Lennon auditors, Messrs A. Robertson and J. Quigley; librarian, Mr. E. Lennon; council—Messrs M. J. Burgess, T. Brophy, T. Purcell, D. McDonnell, G. McSherry; treasurer, Mr. S. Madden." Short addresses suited to the occasion were made by Mr. Burgess (prior to his vacating the presidential chair) and Mr. Cunningham (the newly-elected president). A most successful meeting terminated in the usual manner.. [■.-.. It has been finally decided that the proposed local Catholic bazaar will not be held until early next year.
