The convent schools were inspected a few days ago by the Hawke’s Bay Education Board inspector. , A mission commenced in St. Mary’s Church-after the 10 o’clock Mass this morning, and will continue for two weeks. The mission is being conducted by the Rev. Fathers McDermott and Creagh, C.SS.R. - The decision of the Tablet management to reduce the price of their admirable paper to' half the usual subscription has been received with much satisfaction in Gisborne, and every Catholic family in the Bay should at once become subscribers. All the candidates sent up by St. Dominic’s Convent for the June examination of Trinity College, London, were successful. The following is the list: Advanced junior division McLaughlin, 64; Lillis Fanning, 75. Junior division (honors) —Mary Dunlop, 83; Constance Dunlop, 90. Waipawa (From our own correspondent.) Very creditable results were achieved by the pupils of the local convent (Sisters of St. Joseph) at the recent Trinity College musical examinations. The four pupils presented passed, and one of them gained honors. —Margaret Shanly, 80 (honors). Intermediate Eileen Whittington, 70. Junior— Williams, 74. Preparatory Sebley, 70.
