I ; —— f— — ; :A, Mr. Richard Hazleton, M.P., who for almost 12 months has been leader of the delegation from the Irish Parliamentary Party to Australasia, was present at the ceremonies in connection with the conferring of the Pallium on the Archbishop of Sydney at St. Mary’s Cathedral on Sunday, and at the subsequent luncheon given by his Grace to the visiting Archbishop and Bishops and leading laymen (says the Catholic Press of April 25). On Sunday night Mr. Hazleton left Sydney by the Melbourne express, and on Monday night addressed a Home Rule meeting at Young. On Tuesday evening he spoke at Temora, last night at Wyalong, and to-morrow evening he will speak at Wagga Wagga. Afterwards he will go on to Melbourne, where he. will take steamer for London to resume his place in the ranks of the Irish Party in the House of Commons. Messrs. W. A. Redmond, M.P., and J. T. Donovan addressed meetings at Tocumwal and Corowa last week. On Monday evening next they appeal at Burrowa and Gunning; on. May 1, at Scone ; May 2, Narrabri; May Moree and Tingha; May 6, Inverell; May 7, Tenterfield. Bishop O’Connor of Armidale will preside at the meeting at Morree. From Tenterfield Messrs Redmond and Donovan, who are continuing the campaign as originally planned, will motor to Lismore, and on May 8 in that city they will inauguarate their campaign in the diocese. Bishop Carroll will preside. On- May 9 they will appeal at Murwillumbah; 10, Mullumbimby; 11, Bangalow; 13, Ballina; 14, Wardell; 15, Casino; 16, Coraki and Tatham; 18, Maclean; 20, Cowper ; 21, Coff’s Harbor; 22, Bellingen and Smithtown; 23, Dorrigo and Kempsey; 24, Bowraville and Port Macquarie; 25, Wauchope. - A cable message has been sent by Dr., N. M. O’Donnell, president of the Victorian branch of the United Irish League, to Mr. Redmond, leader of the Irish National Party, as follows- ‘Mailing additional £2500 to-day. Victorian Irishmen hope Convention accepts bill, end feud centuries, inaugurating era peace, progress, prosperity.’ This, with £3OOO sent on January 10, makes £5500 sent to the- Home Rule funds from Victoria as a result of the visit of envoys, and it is expected that a further sum of. £SOO will be sent next month.

The total sum received as a result, of the Irish Envoys’, tour of Queensland was £4705 15s 2d, to which was added an amount of £3B 5s 4d that was lying in the bank since the last collection was made, making in all a grand total of £4744 0s 6d. The expenses were £l2O 2s 4d, leaving a credit balance of £4623 18s 2d. Of this £4600 has been remitted to the leader of the Irish Parliamentary Party, and the remaining £23 18s 2d has been retained at credit of the fund in the Queensland National Bank, Brisbane. -
