(From our own correspondent.) ' . January 11, The half-yearly meeting of St. Canice’s branch of the H.A.B.C. Society was held in the clubrooms last evening, the president (Bro. P. Murphy) occupying the chair. The proceedings throughout were most enthusiastic, and a determined effort will be made this year to increase the membership and generally improve the position of the branch, which is at present in a very satisfactory condition. With this object in view two teams, consisting of Bros. J. Lambert, I). Dennehv, M. Hennessy, J. Dickson, P. Nevin, J. Hepburn, G. Drew, and P. Murphy, R. Annibal, W. Lander, P. Hughes, J. Rasmussen, F. O’Gorman, M. O’Brien, were selected to canvass for members, a prize to be awarded to the winning team. The election of officers resulted as follows:President, Bro. P. Nevin; vicepresident, Bro. J. North secretary, Bro. D. Dennehy; treasurer, Bro. J. Lambert; warden, Bro. James Carmine; guardian, Bro. Drew; sick visitors, Bros. G. Organ, W. Lauder; auditors, Bros. J. Radford, F. O’ Gorman. Bro. F. O’ Gorman, P.P., installed the newly-elected, officers, who briefly replied, thanking the members for their election. "
